The day started out with 1873 words to go, but by the time I got finished with The Routine Stuff™ and A Genuine Emergency™, I find that it's a few minutes after 3 pm and...

...I still have 1873 words to go. All due tomorrow.

Not quite the Monday for the record books, but a solid recent contender!

In other news, it occurred to me yesterday that one of the person "pegs" I've created to aid in memorization—Lawrence Sterne—just wasn't carrying his weight, so to speak. The whole purpose of using a person as a mnemonic aid is the ability to visualize that person (if you think about—visualize—the title of Joshua Foer's Moonwalking with Einstein, you'll know what I mean).

I originally picked Sterne because he fit the bill mnemonically (I needed someone whose initials were L.S.). But I can no better visualize Sterne than I can juggle operating chainsaws.

So I replaced him.

With Lisbeth Salander.

(I can do that. My memory palace, my rules.)

I'll let you know how that works out. In the meantime... it's back to the face!

Cheers...
