About right...
Dec. 4th, 2012 06:41 pmTranslation today was an on-again, off-again kind of deal. I would translate the long-term stuff until I couldn't stand it any more (typically, after about 500 words), and then I'd take a break. So I guess it's something of an accomplishment to have completed over 2,500 source words of the material.
Every time I tried to nap today, the phone rang. What're the odds?
I got to thinking about the so-called person–action–object memory system, which consists of some number (typically 100) of triplets consisting of a person performing some action on some object, and concluded that not only is it overkill (there are literally a million unique "pegs" in the system, which I think is a little excessive), but it also represents a significant cognitive challenge not unlike the challenges associated with the way Morse code was taught back in the day.
Feeling very much like Fermat, I'm afraid I haven't the time to expound on this more fully right now, as I must get ready for t'ai chi!
Cheers...
