I fired up FineReader to get a handle on a PDF that had been sent to me for potential translation, and was informed that the application would have to be reinstalled as a consequence of having upgraded to Windows 8.1!

Unbelievable!

I don't think I've ever had that happen to me before in the quarter century I've been using apps in various iterations of Windows!

I don't think I've ever done an upgrade in place, but I sure have run into many programs that would no longer run or would act in strange ways after trying to install them on a newer version of windows.
