Red is not always red...

On the way home from tai chi last night, I stopped at Spec's to pick up some beer and upon spying something called "Ruby Redbird," a seasonal summer beer brewed by Shiner, figured it was something along the lines of Killian's Irish Red, and took it home with me.
Things didn't quite work out that way.
First, the name of the Shiner product is derived from the Texas Ruby Red Grapefruit, the juice of which is used in the brewing process, along with some ginger extract. The result is quite far from what I normally consider to be "beer," but far from what I would call unacceptable. It's a nice drink for a summer evening.
* * * Galina, her sister, and I took in the Houston Museum of Natural Science today, and had quite a good time. Galina's sister was impressed, to say the least. I am now struggling to understand the scope of what is considered "natural science" after having visited an exhibit devoted to the USS Texas, which was a battleship from the early part of the 20th century.
I took lots of photos, of a quality better than those I took in April. However, all of the computers around here are off, except for my Linux laptop, which is not suitable for anything other than basic stuff like posting to LJ.
Mayhaps I will deal tomorrow with imagery taken in recent days.
Cheers...
