The best laid plans...
Oct. 22nd, 2001 07:20 pm...have their own rules. My plan for the day fell far short of the classification "best laid," but still...
The car is (largely) packed, containing a desk, shelf, table, and several boxes of "stuff." What remains to pack are the plants, laundry (which can be used as padding), and my laptop.
The dishes are washed and the bathroom is clean. That may remain the extent of my grand plan to clean this place up; there is way too much to do in precious little time. Improvising, I plan to foist the frozen food on Natalie when she comes to visit, currently scheduled around 9 pm.
My room in L.A. is assured. The hotel has informed me that they require 72 hours notice should I decide not to use my guaranteed reservation. Yeow! No cheap airline tickets have shown up in my searches (there is just no getting around the fact that the flight into and out of Durango adds a fairly fixed-price chunk to any fare), so I guess I'll be driving to and from L.A. instead of flying, unless a really good deal rears its skinky little head at me. Mapquest tells me it's just over 830 miles from home to the hotel, door to door, which is about 250 miles less than the trek from home to Pearland.
Now, all I have to do is put together my presentation. :^)
Cheers...
