Parlez-vous 'techie'?
Oct. 2nd, 2000 11:40 amI don't know how I ran across this comic strip, but techies among the LJ crowd - especially computer techies - may appreciate the humor of the User Friendly comic strip. The comments are sometimes as entertaining as the strip itself.
Talking about techies, I just stumbled upon the news that tomorrow, October 3, is "Techies Day." The day has been organized by CNET Networks Inc. as a nationwide initiative to addresses the increasing demand for a qualified technology workforce. The Yahoo article I read estimates that there are more than 400,000 unfilled technology positions in the nation today, and that the number will triple in five years.
What was it about Techies Day that made the news? Only that AOL and Microsoft have signed up as national co-sponsors.
