More paint!

In a move rivaling the feared "Do not pass GO!" made famous by Parker Brothers a long time ago, I ended up going nearly directly to the Pearland house after the shift earlier "today." (The quotes are there because I just got up...from the perspective of any given cell in my body, that shift occurred "yesterday.")

The mission? Continue painting! Why the rush? Well, the people who are going to "build" the kitchen are coming over tomorrow (the way normal people understand that word), and it was felt that it would be a Good Thing to have at least the ceilings painted and ready to go. We might start doing walls tomorrow after my shift ends.

We didn't spend every waking minute at the house; we came back around noon so I could do some work on my way-behind-schedule work-related web site. I had worked on a color scheme a little during the early part of "yesterday's" shift, when things were really quiet, but in the cold grey light of morning, the colors...well...fell short.

I asked Galina to help me and she was brilliant! She did something that would probably have never occurred to me: she gathered together a bunch of business cards and started taking books off my shelf so we could look at the color schemes used commercially to sell products. We had a lot of fun picking colors, especially with me insisting that they belong to the magic group of 216 "browser-safe" tones.

I finally got my banner graphic the way I want it, more or less, and I've a couple more tweaks to make before it's ready for the Big Show.

Gotta run. It's a bright new "day," and time is a-wastin'!

Cheers...
