I was beginning to hope that the election might finally be over, but it appears that the Flori-duh Supreme Court has decided to order a recount of 9,000 disputed ballots in Miami-Dade, as well as in some other places, too.
I don't get the logic behind all of this, but then again, logic probably has nothing to do with it. I think any reasonable person would look at the situation and see something of a movement to count and recount, and recount votes until a desired result (a Gore victory) is achieved.
I just wonder why nobody seems to be pointing out that apparently the only people in Flori-duh who can't use voting machines properly are Democrats.
That's enough of that...there's real life to attend to out there, outside of Reuters and CNN.
Tonight's the last night of the flight, though we've been informed that there is a slim possibility that the flight might extend one more day. (Working at NASA, I've learned never to discount those slim possibilities> :^) However, we'll know about that before 3 pm today, which is when I'd normally go to sleep if there was as shift tomorrow.
The kitchen-building crew was at the Pearland house earlier today (it's a strain not to say "yesterday," seeing as how I've just gotten up), and it was amazing to see how they'd set up several power saws and other tools. They arrived around noon and by the time I left (around 2:30 pm), they'd already framed in over half the kitchen counters. These guys work like maniacs. I just wonder how much additional work they did after I left. Myself, Galina and I filled about 15 large bags with the leaves that were clogging the front lawn (I had no problem falling asleep, friends!).
Anyway, it's time to go get ready for work.
Cheers...
