Almost the end of the day...
May. 17th, 2001 04:22 pmWork day, that is.
All has been pretty quiet today, which is okay by me. It seems all I can think of is Galina on the road, anyway. Her earliest feasible ETA in Pearland (assuming no delays, no traffic, no getting lost, etc.) is 8 pm. Midnight is more realistic, though, methinks.
Got a call from Elena and Natalie, who manage my client's translation and interpretation departments (and who both used to work for me); they want to see me after my shift today. I am curious why, and expect to have that curiosity satisfied soon.
It's just as well, as I need to stop by the credit union near the office (the credit union is open late only on Thursdays). Such a stop, though, generally delays me enough to where I hit the peak of the get-out-of-JSC rush, an experience I would only wish on my worst enemies. I figure by the time we're finished talking, the rush will have died down, and I'll be able to go home in relatively normal traffic.
I did, BTW, get up early this morning to check my e-mail, which indicated (as I expected) that I did not have to go in early. I was not able to go back to sleep. In fact, I almost left for work a half hour early; instead, I took a little time to pick the place up a bit, in preparation for G's arrival. There's still some of that left to do tonight, methinks, though I may end up crashing early.
All for now...gotta get ready to book out of here...
Cheers...
