Ramping up...
Sep. 17th, 2001 09:14 amGot up a while back and did the dishes, most of them. I have gravitated to a bowl-and-chopsticks style of eating that is very easy to clean up after, but the key to making it easy is to actually do the cleaning after every meal. Then again, it's no big deal to catch up on 3 or 4 meals at one time.
My, my. What an inspiring way to start off a post! Reminds me a bit of Katharine Hepburn's observations on chamber pots and bowel movements in her The Making of the African Queen, or: How I went to Africa with Bogart, Bacall, and Huston and almost lost my mind, which I read last night, between fits of sleep. I attribute yesterday's poor sleep to the fact that I had one heck of a nap in the middle of the day, caused either by fatigue or by an urge to get some sleep in for a (phantom) upcoming night shift.
Or both.
Yesterday's flea spray has done something the prior two sprays did not do. It has suppressed the fleas, by and large. Only a small handful of hardy insects appear to have survived the spray, but none of them appear able to swim. As a side note, despite the absence of fleas, I still feel as if they're jumping on me, though every time I look, there's nothing there. Strange.
My candidate's statement is written and sent. My next task will be to finish cleaning the kitchen area (including taking out the garbage), pack my stuff, shower, get dressed, and then leave for the airport.
Well, this post has certainly been, um, basic. No high-falutin' ideas hiding in the corners of this one. With any luck, my next post will be from Colorado.
Cheers...
