But that is not necessarily bad.

Right now, I'm expecting Galina to come home from the store, and shortly after that, I expect Feht & Co. (probably uxor Maria and offspring William) to arrive for a few hours' company.

Feht et ux. (& Son), the lucky devils, are departing for Guadelupe shortly, for a month's absence.

I only got a bare start on the welded tank standard today when news came that our employee Caleb - who hopes, I think, to make his mark on the entertainment world - had to abandon our counter in order to take care of some last-minute details associated with the production of one of his mother's plays that debuts tonight for a two-night run.

I am not pleased, I must admit. This is the rush season, and to have an employee bail like that is not really acceptable. On the other hand, better this week than next.

In any event, I ended up going back to the store around 2 pm (I'd been there for the opening and went home around 10) to help out and stayed until about 5, when Drew and I did some shopping for tonight and went home to clean the place up in preparation for company.

So, my sum total output for the day ends up being pretty poor. Oh, well...

To make up for it, I shall work diligently tomorrow and Sunday. (Of course, I was preparing to do that anyway... :^).

Idle question: Do dogs remember other dogs? Does Ming remember Max? Will Sasha remember (the old, tired, and creaking) Ming?

Huntur now avidly follows the dogs with her glance as they wander underfoot. If I sit down with Huntur on my lap, and the dogs are nearby, Huntur will reach out to pet Sasha, who will lick the proffered hand (which I then wash, with no comment).

Huntur also likes music. She will curtail her fussiness immediately if I start to sing, which I find amusing, since my singing has been the cause of more fussiness in people than I care to think about. In any event, a few minutes ago, I was able to keep Huntur quiet and content by singing along to It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, which was playing on the radio.

We rented the Pearl Harbor DVD last night. Galina and I watched it last night; tonight, it's the kids' turn. While the acting was a little wooden and the plot unbearably unlikely, the story did move along and I think the movie acquitted itself as viewable.

Gotta go... company's here.

Cheers...
