Back in the saddle...
Dec. 9th, 2001 09:14 amGalina called yesterday at a few minutes after 4 to remind me to get ready to go to Caleb's play Kate Wears a Kilt. A few minutes later, I came to the end of a page and called it a day - for a while - having laid down just short of 4000 words. I was still 4 pages short of the 11 I had set as my goal for the day.
In getting ready for the evening, I took my beard trimmer in hand and after struggling with it for a while, ended up taking the beard off. Frankly, it was beginning to bother me. It made me look old; much older than my age.
I kept the moustache, though. Just for variety's sake.
The play went well. While not a slick, Broadway production by any means, the story (corny as it might be: 21st century teenager of Scots heritage visits Scots castle and is spirited back 400 years; think of it as My So-Called Life meets Braveheart [just kidding]) was pleasant enough and the acting was - at times - very good. There was some talent on the stage, to be sure.
I slept in this morning, if staying unconscious until 7:30 am can be considered "sleeping in." Galina and I have breakfasted and now I embark on yet another fascinatin' day with a steel tank design specification. Or maybe I'll go for some variety and polish off a 4-page section on vessel compartments before returning to steel tanks.
We'll see.
Cheers...
