alexpgpThe day started with a relatively short job that had me running around in circles for a while.
You see, I try to reuse as much of my previous work as possible, because in addition to keeping me from having to retranslate text—which will almost certainly result in small differences if the translations are done, say, weeks apart—the ability to reuse the exact same words as before is important, particularly when it comes to documents that refer to parts of other documents.
The only problem was, the assignment documents were pointing me every which way. Text referring to part A was really referring to part B, although in another document, references to part B really referred to part C.
Another project has cropped up to replace the one that got scrapped (the one I was behind on, a couple of days ago), and between yesterday and today, I've managed to translate over 7,000 source words.
Feels like old times. Gonna sleep well, tonight!
