I spent the morning translating and went in to the store to relieve Galina, who had been invited to lunch by one of our acquaintances here in Pagosa, Vivi H. It was kind of a madhouse day; it seemed there was always a line of customers waiting to be served (though mostly for postal business, for which we get paid a fixed rate).

As I went looking for something - I forget what it is - I ran across Bulgakov's Master and Margarita and Morris' Theodore Rex, which apparently had arrived while I was in Houston, and the existence of which had completely slipped my mind, what with the current crush of work. (I got a call from the client today, telling me to put aside my current work to work on other, more urgent material, but I digress...). These tomes were among the books that LJ friend [livejournal.com profile] nichevo had been getting rid of some time ago and had offered to send to willing recipients for the price of postage (the Bulgakov volume I knew about; the Morris book is a most pleasant surprise!) Now, I only have to find the time to snuggle down somewhere and "reread" the Bulgakov (I've never read the English translation) and read the Roosevelt book.

I'm tired. I think I'm going to take it easy tonight. The client sent over nearly a meg and a half of reference material; I think I might give it a look-see. Then again, maybe I'll really take it easy tonight and start in on one of those books.

Cheers...
