Today seems a repeat of yesterday.

Galina, Lee, and I had a heart-to-heart a few minutes ago, and while some good came out of it (probably), I cannot say it was a painless event.

I have got to find the time to do the things that are important instead of devoting my time to the things that are urgent. That's a given. Time I spend at the store is time I don't spend trying either to get translation work or simply thinking about the future.

Tonight, I came home a little after closing and immediately fell asleep on the couch. Nobody bothered to wake me up in time to go to dance class, so we didn't go. (As much as I dislike saying it, it's probably all for the better, since I felt like a complete lump of clay during the last class.)

A colleague here in Pagosa, a Mac fanatic, insists that pretty much every Mac ever made has an RJ-45 network connector built in. I'm looking at the back of a Power Macintosh 8100/100 right now and the closest thing I can see to a network connector is a 15-pin "D" connector that my friend insists is a SCSI connector.

Earlier, he'd lent me his system disks so I could reinstall the operating system on the machine (there are a lot of entries in the Apple menu that point to apps the former owner had on his network), but I cannot figure out how to use them. Inserting a disk and clicking on the one item that shows up there throws an "I don't know what to do with this file" error.

I'll probably pay for that nap when I try to go to sleep. I feel pretty alert right now (though a bit chastened). I think I'll simply mope about a bit and then go to sleep anyway.

Cheers...
