Snow today was faint and sporadic. One customer noted that it was, in fact, too cold for it to snow. The weather dweebs still maintain we're in for a heavy snowfall within the next couple of days.

The day at the store was pretty light, all things considered. For a Saturday, it was heavy. For a weekday, it was okay. Drew took off for Durango with Shannon and Huntur soon after sorting the mail.

After the end of the day, I wandered on over to Feht's house and had my first real experience driving the Nissan under wintery conditions. So far, I've avoided the heater problem by keeping the heater off until the temperature needle moves off of the "C" mark (this may be about as effective as scattering torn newsprint from trains for the purpose of keeping rhinoceros at a distance while traveling in New Hampshire, I don't know). Nonetheless, it's all the fan can do to keep a portion of the windshield clear.

Feht had his neighbors over, too, and we all feasted on roast duck, various salads, red caviar, and wine to go with it all. I had intended to get back to the house sooner, but by the time I looked at my clock, it was already pretty late. The road home was made more treacherous by the presence of livestock and wild animals on the road. The latter are less of a problem, as they will generally get out of the way if you move slowly enough; the former are simply not equipped with what it takes mentally to get them out of your way. What made it worse was an approaching vehicle, which made it well-nigh impossible to see the cattle on the roadway.

In any event, I'm back home. I peeked in on Galina, and she's fallen asleep to the sound of the boob tube. I shall go upstairs shortly and turn it off and, for myself, turn in for a good night's sleep.

Cheers...
