Another day... another dollar (or so)...
Apr. 5th, 2003 05:49 pmThe wind outside today was howling and moaning with great feeling. So much so, that the mountains are obscured by a cloud of dust, from where we sit. A fine reminder that, when all is said and done, we really live in a high desert that gets more moisture than the deserts of, say, Arizona or New Mexico.
We are invited to a wedding reception in a couple of hours, and I have no idea what to bring, or what to wear, or anything. I shall do what I can and make the best of it.
I started on today's slug of work around 11 am and just finished it a little while ago (call it 6-1/2 hours, with an hour off for lunch and catching up on the news... I was "surprised" to learn that there were explosions in Baghdad today, according to CNN!).
In any event, I am still on track (and actually a little ahead of myself, albeit only by 3%), with only four more such sessions left in this job!
Right now, though, I think I'm going to go upstairs and see what I have to wear. (This shouldn't take long. ;^)
Then I'll relax. I've been exposed to entirely too many mental images of sewage treatment plants and HVAC units over the past couple of days.
Cheers...
