Last minute everything...
Apr. 29th, 2003 09:57 pmI got to the store around 2 pm or so, at which point Drew quit the premises to go home and get ready for his trip to Austin. Galina stayed home getting ready for the trip, too, so when Jody left at 3:15, that left l'il ol' me in the store, all by my lonesome.
It wasn't too bad. The worst times are those when someone comes in with a time-consuming task and is trailed by what seems to be a thousand people who need simple things: a stamp, an envelope, and so on. But it all gets handled somehow.
We reserved a room in Austin for tomorrow night, which may not have been such a good idea, but there is a number to call to cancel if things get tough. I've printed out what looks like half a ream of paper with maps, information, directions, and probably the cure for the common cold, all in support of this Austin trip.
"D" hour is 0700.
We'll see about that.
* * * Another brilliant TWiki idea: convert Palm databases into a series of pages that can be loaded (and edited) through a web interface. This came to me as I gave serious thought to a much needed and overdue "combing" of the information that I've been carrying around on my Palm since... 1999? Which contacts are no longer valid? What notes are obsolete? Is it okay to finally dispense with to-do items from when I lived in Texas?
Something to sleep on.
Cheers...
