Do you ever get that feeling that everyone in the world wants a piece of you? I've got it, big time.

The plan as of right now is this: Galina and Drew go down to Austin for the trade show, and Drew flies back on Sunday to Denver, where I pick him up and bring him back to Pagosa. It should be a nice trip.

One of my clients is asking if I'm interested in a two-month on-site stint. I'm not saying yes, and I'm not saying no, although the smart money would favor the second proposition.

I came up with a brilliant idea for an article for the ATA Chronicle, on the gentle art of editing. I'm sure I could probably alienate a lot of people with an article like that, especially if it is founded on real-world experience, with clients throwing unreasonable deadlines around like they were rose petals at a wedding, as opposed to Proper Theory™. (I am a bloodied veteran of the observation that in theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, while in practice... there is!)

Otherwise, I am bereft of brilliant ideas at this moment.

My cellular provider decided to upgrade its voicemail system, which I assumed meant perhaps a new menu of options (it does). What I did not assume it meant was for a caller sent to voicemail to be greeted with an unctuous female voice announcing, "We're sorry, but your party has not set up their voice mailbox." There was one incoming call that I missed today, the Caller ID of which was not available, which indicates - my experience tells me - that the call was from out of the area. That only subsumes most of the world and pretty much all of my clients.

I spent a little time trying to set up TWiki on my public web site, but my hosting provider only provides a rudimentary ftp capability. You can forget about invoking chown and its ilk. Perhaps it's time for me to seek a new hosting service? Preferably Linux-based.

Something else to add to the to-do list, speaking of which...

Having pretty much implemented a nice to-do list within TWiki, I look at it with sorrow, as it is not really usable, except in a collaboration kind of environment, as a kind of meta-to-do list for members of a team to be able to coordinate. Ah, well...

Tomorrow is going to be interesting.

Cheers...
