Clearing the decks...
Jun. 24th, 2003 09:51 pmThe assignment that got pushed to Thursday owing to the document placed ahead of it in the queue got moved back to Wednesday, but that's no big deal as I finished the thing about an hour ago. Once I send it off tomorrow (after a review) and invoice all the stuff I've been working on since coming back from Russia, the decks will be clear to work on the 60K mandat.
The client and I worked out a délai of July 14 for the 60K job, with incremental deliveries along the way. By way of an aside, it's nice to know what I'm going to be doing for the next couple of weeks.
* * * While waiting for FedEx to deliver the dongle that Natalie sent me from Texas (it was very helpful in working on this latest job), Galina and I tried a new place for lunch downtown. It turns out Doug and Kat were already there, halfway through their lunch, which was encouraging (as they are very particular about the kind of food they eat). We ordered a tuna salad wrap and a Greek salad, which we split, and it was very, very good. And the price was reasonable, too.
Dinnertime kind of slipped by again today. I quickly fried up some cabbage with Italian herbs and that was about it. Then again, I had about three bowls of the leftover borshch that I made a couple of days ago, so it's not as if I'm going hungry (nor is that a threat even if I fast for a couple of days).
* * * I slept in this morning, which is very unusual for me. Ming got me up at a typical time (5:30 am or so), but as soon as he came back, I went back to bed. When the alarm rang, I shut it off and went back to sleep with a will, figuring Galina would wake me, which she did, somewhere around 7:30 am. This is completely unlike my usual routine, but I'm not going to get upset about it.
Instead, I think I may hit the hay a little earlier tonight. Maybe I was overtired from work. Maybe I'll be overtired from today's work session, too.
Cheers...
