Not to put too fine a point on it, but I had my suspicions about my doctor visit today. Not that I thought anything had really turned rotten, but let's just say I would not have been terribly surprised to find out that... well, things were perhaps not as good as they were before my trip to Houston.

In point of fact, I did end up gaining five pounds. The good news is that the gain upon my return from Houston was more like 9 pounds, so I've reclaimed some of that loss. There is still some left to go, evidently, and to be frank, I am beginning to feel the tug of vanity which dictates my cutting a more dashing figure than the pot-bellied behemoth I see on the store's webcam.

It'll give me something to do. Smile!

The afternoon was spent basically visiting the doctor and doing some shopping. The Office Depot no longer stocks the Zaurus, which means I'll have to find a serial cable elsewhere (assuming I want to pursue such a purchase).

My CoreelDraw 9 arrived today, and it's not quite what I expected. In fact, I'm not sure I have any recourse, so I may try to see just how well off (or poorly off) I actually am. Which reminds me... the FedEx from Houston I was expecting does not seem to have arrived, or else Drew is not being very communicative.

Part of my shopping in Durango included dinner tonight, which was held at Drew and Shannon's place. Huntur now laughs uncontrollably whenever I say anything in Russian. It's eerie. We finally ended up in one of those see-saw matches where I was saying the Russian for "delicious" and Huntur was countering with something not quite comprehensible, but spirited. This will be a challenge... probably even more of one than were my own kids.

I received a e-mail from a... friend of yesteryear, and cannot bring myself to sit down and dash off a reply. I feel as if something more... substantial is required, or deserved. It's funny how memories can come pouring back, like waters freed by a suddenly collapsed dam. It's definitely a to-do for the weekend, which will be busy.

Cheers...
