Topsy-turvy...
Oct. 14th, 2003 09:38 pmOne of the unintended side effects of having Galina and me here at the same time is, well, the fact that life gets interesting, especially as this is a small house.
Natalie dropped me off at the client's office around 8:30 this morning, and I did just about a day's worth of work by noon. The afternoon got its revenge as I spent an inordinate amount of time working on the graphics that are a part of the current document.
I came home and finished the outside work I'd agreed to do for Igor B., who got me started back in the translation business back after I'd been "excessed" by Borland in 1991. Igor had a surplus of medical pages to do, and I took 15 of them off his hands. Though it was against my better judgment, in the end, I figured out how to do all the fancy graphs (one of them, I swear, looks like it could have been put together by Rube Goldberg), and thus was able to do the job. I have yet to figure out how to invoice for the work.
The car that was lent to Natalie for a while has become unlent, for reasons I am not aware of, but it's really not my affair. All I know is that my getting around (and getting Natalie to work) is going to be... tricky over the next few days. Frankly, I'm not in the mood to get another rental.
To-dos for tomorrow include registering for the ATA conference and reserving a room at the hotel, and submitting invoices with my client. And at some point, when nobody is looking, I'm going to have to make a point of taking a couple of hours off just to myself.
Cheers...
