Moving along smoothly...
Oct. 21st, 2003 10:55 amOnce I got home yesterday afternoon, I finalized the numbers for the quarterly sales tax return and skedaddled to the post office to send the item via certified mail. That took some time, as there were a number of people in line, but I was able to get out in time to get to the Beltway and drive over to Natalie's work to pick her up and deliver her to class after work. I then napped in the parking lot (and, in fact, overslept) until the end of class, and drove home.
Galina had been sick when I arrived from JSC, and was still feeling badly. Natalie and I attacked the KFC we'd bought on the way home, but it was one of those nights where everyone seemed to be in their own shell. Natalie went to her room, and though I rubbed Galina's feet (she was feverish) and we watched part of the Russian bootleg of Matrix Reloaded, we also called it a night early on.
I got up this morning in plenty of time to perform my ablutions, but there seemed to be a quantum leap between 6:40 and 6:50 am (it was the former when I left the house, the latter when I sat down in the car). I got to work on time, just barely. I forgot to take the EasyTag device out of the car, which I'm sure just made Natalie's day (I could tell from her voice when I called to tell her about that this morning).
Galina is supposed to participate in an open house today, but I'm not sure she's up to it. She's also supposed to be around for a phone call from a real estate investment coach, but I get the feeling that'll take second priority behind the open house, which is a shame, considering how much we're paying for the coaching.
My certification has been set for tomorrow, at around 7:45 am, during a Russian PAO event, which is fairly good news, assuming the media people involved speak clearly. As a result, I'll probably be a little late for my physical exam at the clinic; hopefully, that won't be much of a problem. It also means I got duded up (tie, button down collar, no jeans) for nothing.
The only thing that is bothering me is a slight itchy feeling in my nose, presaging a sniffle.
Cheers...
