Up for air...
Feb. 9th, 2004 07:47 pmAfter 18 hours of excruciating pain that came and went, and a near-sleepless night to boot, I decided to go visit the doctor.
I was happy to hear that the initial diagnosis coincided with my own, but the doc was only 70% sure, as he said, and that he'd need x-rays and a CT scan to make sure. I demurred, since I have a pretty hefty deductible on my health insurance, and I don't want to deplete the family kitty.
This visit was to address one of the major tasks visited upon iatrics: "Doc, please make the pain stop!" After the initial consultation, the nurse injected some pain killer that seemed to take forever to take effect, and even then, I could feel something in the vicinity of the kidney, but not pain.
So here I am at home, catching up on last night's sleep, with an array of pain-killers at my side.
And wouldn't you know it... there is absolutely nothing to engage me on the telly.
Cheers...
