It's gonna be a lo-o-ong day...
Apr. 1st, 2004 10:24 amI generally let off a little steam from time to time during the work day by hitting Slashdot. So far today, I don't think any of the postings have let up on the April 1st theme. Criminy.
[About an hour later, after realizing I'd left Semagic open while going off to work...]
The environmental management document is... done! As I suspected, these last 2600 words or so passed through Wordfast like so much grain through a goose, although there were a few places where it was obvious the Russian originator tried desperately to reduce his/her comprehensibility to zero.
I'm still mulling over just how much reformatting I'm going to do (I'm recalling the client once telling me I'm not to waste time formatting, but I know better). As the text became weirder and weirder toward the end, it became clear to me that whoever was processing this OCR output - and it most certainly was that - was getting tired, or pressed for time.
No matter. The important thing is, that it's done! (Can you tell I'm happy?)
So right now, I'm going to go take a walk. There's plenty more to do when I get back!
Cheers...
