The usual work flow was interrupted today. I started with what turned out to be a 3.5-hr stint in the Moscow Support Room, after which I reverted back to doing the Execute Package. Everything is done at this time, including the much-hated "Weekly Lookahead Plan," which dulls one's mind almost to the point of catatonia as one slogs through it.

It could have been worse... apparently, changing requirements are forcing my client to whip interpreters and translators from assignment to assignment like bees visiting flowers in springtime, and when I showed up for work, it took the fellow I was replacing about five minutes to explain what I might have ended up doing for the rest of the day. He then wasted another five minutes repeating it all, as I could not grasp the enormity of it all at one go. Fortunately, the whole rigamarole became moot as I was digesting it the second time around.

On a whim, I stopped by the Half Price Bookstore on the way into work, looking for The Rage and the Pride, by Orianna Fallaci (which is not in stock at the giant Barnes & Noble over by I-45). They had a copy there, at a very attractive price. I haven't had a chance to get too far into the book, but so far, find Fallaci's voice hits all the right buttons... it makes me wish I could read Italian.

Cheers...
