Everything went smoothly on the flight over, up until I boarded the British Airways flight in Denver. The plane was packed, which basically made it impossible to do anything on one's seat (e.g., access one's carry-on, or even retrieve a dropped article).
London is, well, cloudy. I've checked into my hotel, which provided me a room on the very top floor (this, with a narrow staircase and no lift) and am now wandering about. It occurs to me that, part of the excitement of travel that I experience has to do with the childlike sense of discovery - or rediscovery - regarding How Things Are Done. (For example, our "Yield" signs read "Give way" over here.)
I've bought 30 minutes of time at a place called easyInternetCafé, which comes equipped with lots of LCD screens that are easy to read and keyboards I find difficult to type on.
On another note, j'ai faim, so I think I'll go find someplace around here to eat, which shouldn't be much of a problem, actually. The trick is going to be selecting where to eat, since there must be at least a dozen different kinds of cuisines within rock-throwing distance of this place (though I would, of course, never dream...).
Cheers...
