Let me tell you, when joint operations start, they do so in earnest.

Today's work started with another trip to the pad, this time to check out electrical connections between the "vault" (located about 15 m below ground level) and level 6 on the service tower. This was a superior location to yesterday's level 8, up at the top of the tower, where the sun shone down hard on all of us, making me in particular feel a little like a piece of meat on a barbeque grill. The only thing we had to contend with on level 6 was a stiff, hot wind blowing in off the steppe. Every day, that wind gets just a little hotter, too.

Once that job was done, we returned to the Fili for lunch, after which I was tasked with supporting an equipment transfer from one end of the полтинник to the other, going around the building, ending up in a receiving area just off of hall 101, which is where the spacecraft sits, stacked with its payload adapter and the Breeze-M upper stage, in the bright yellow support tower at the west end of the hall. With any luck, when next I see the stack, it will have been rotated into the horizontal position, in preparation for encasing the assembly inside the payload fairing.

After the equipment transfer, I donned clean room garb and relieved the interpreter in 101. After a while, I was relieved myself, whereupon I went upstairs and did some translation and chased down some information for team members. Then it was back to 101 for another support session until Olga F. relieved me around 7:20 pm.

In case anyone is wondering, photography is not permitted currently either in the pad area or in 101, so my verbal descriptions shall have to suffice. Perhaps I shall be able to draw some kind of sketch and upload it, but that's a pretty iffy proposition.

In any event, tomorrow promises more of the same. My schedule calls for me to be on the street at 5:45 am, ready to support activities at the полтинник, which means I really should be starting to think about going to bed. I'm pretty tired right now.

Cheers...
