Laptop battery is weak...
Nov. 5th, 2004 07:08 pmJust a note to say I made it to Moscow okay. The latest wrinkle in the "green" (nothing-to-declare) line is having to put your bags through x-ray inspection.
My driver was voluble (and one of these fellows who likes to look at you when he talks). I saw some parts of Russian roads I've never seen before.
I checked my ROL Moscow dialup account info before leaving the States. It turns out my balance had expired, so one of tasks du jour upon arrival was to find a place that sold ROL cards and pick one up to "refill" the account. Reloading the account was fairly straightforward, once I read the instructions printed on the back of the card.
I apparently forgot to pack the dingus that allows US plugs to connect to most Russian receptacles. Fortunately, fixing that problem will likely cost less than a dollar.
More detail tomorrow; I'm tired.
Cheers...
