The big "Uh-oh!"
Nov. 6th, 2004 06:47 amGalina called me last night here in Moscow to tell me she loved me, and that that client had called saying the trip was off. The campaign is canceled, for now.
I tried to put my best "What's done is done" face on it, but failed miserably. I called the client just to touch base, and discuss the future, if any. (Recall that I had arrived a couple of days or so before having to actually be here, so technically, I've jumped the gun, although the client and end client were aware of my early departure. I may go into this in a separate post; I may not.)
My immediate problems, so to speak, has to do with the fact that my reservation downtown no longer exists, which means I'll not be getting the exit portion of my immigration paperwork stamped with a residence notation (unless, I guess, I go check into a hotel somewhere in what I'm told is one of the most expensive cities in the world for hotels). I've been told there is a 3-day grace period for this, but am not sure of the details.
I think I will try to have a pleasant weekend and then go back home on Monday's flight. In any event, that's the plan; hopefully, Delta doesn't decide to impose some kind of penalty for an early return.
Farblegarg.
Cheers...
