All very smooth... almost...
Dec. 9th, 2004 10:10 pmI managed to finish the assignment due today just minutes before the FedEx with the new work arrived. The size of the new document (~25 MB) is due largely to a huge number of illustrations, some of which do not appear to be editable (at least by me). No biggie. The word count is not as formidable as it might seem (~14000 source), as the table of contents and the list of figures by themselves weigh in at over 1300 words, or just about 10% of the overall word count.
December continues to be a good month for work, as I was contacted around dinnertime by an excellent client with what promises to be an interesting job that will follow on the heels of the one currently on my plate.
The only fly in the ointment today has to do with my itinerary for Moscow, which I haven't gotten yet despite assurances by the agent that it has been emailed and faxed. I've gone so far as to send myself a test fax to make sure eFax isn't screwing up (and it isn't). The issue has to do with having to send my itinerary off to make sure (a) someone is there to pick up my pale, pink body from the arrivals terminal at Sheremetyevo, and (b) that I get reimbursed for the ticket! Looks like I'll have to call the agent again tomorrow and nag.
Otherwise, it's been a pretty, um, gray day here in Colorado. I went into the store around noon to pick up the FedEx and again in the afternoon to help out with generating some labels for packages going out via UPS. I still think about Ming a lot, and check from time to time to make sure there are no signs that local wildlife is attempting to disturb his rest.
Tomorrow being Friday, I shall endeavor to attend the ham breakfast. It'll be interesting to see if they remember who I am!
Cheers...
