Plod, plod, plod...

Dinner last night was pretty good (though I must admit I am not a fan of corn dogs). Fixing the problem with Drew's DSL setup took an unexpected - and beneficial - turn after I suggested he call the phone company for support, at which point it became clear that the "modem" supplied by the provider has a rudimentary web server built in already, which is why attempts to connect it to through the WAN port on a Linksys router didn't work so well (and why the computers at the kids' place surprisingly worked when the modem was connected to the Uplink port on the router). Once that little detail was clarified, the rest was child's play.

The low-oil pressure light lit up on my Honda as I approached the house, and upon popping the hood to add some oil, I found out what the problem was (in addition to the fact that the car burns oil): the cap that covers the opening through which one adds oil was gone. This tends to allow oil to splash all over the place, and I got a pair of very oily hands as I tried to assess the extent of the damage. I should probably take a walk down the driveway on the off chance that the cap fell out of the car along that route.

I got a relatively small job this morning, due for the early afternoon, but was called into the store just as I was about to sit down to it. I had hoped to have the time to at least read the text in between customers, but it was a very busy morning in that regard. In the end, at least I got to print out the document, which made working with it much easier. (I had called yesterday about having the courier pick up ink I'd ordered from the Office Depot, but this request apparently fell between the cracks. I now have the ink, though I haven't yet installed it in the Epson.)

There's lots of things to do, but precious little time to do them in. I should go kneecap some dragons.
