Via LJ friend [livejournal.com profile] kukutz, for those curious to know which of their friends has blocked indexing by robots. The results will be in Russian, but the thing to remember is that the list of friends shown are the ones whose LJ posts are blocked (each name in this list is followed by "запретил индексацию роботами," or "has blocked indexing by robots"). The statistic at the end shows how many of the overall number of friends in your list have blocking enabled.

Moi, I have the little check mark in place in my own preferences, a situation I am comfortable with given the fact that, ultimately, anyone who really wants to read my LJ can do so. (Heck, a few of my acquaintances have found it without the help of any search engine, not to mention a couple of clients, as well.)

Here's the (translated) form - via LJ user [livejournal.com profile] bacek - if you want to find out how paranoid your friends are:
See how paranoid your friends are!

I have been chasing paper all morning, not getting a heck of a lot done. I can't seem to get in touch with the young woman we hired as a bookkeeper (she closed up shop), so that's not much of a help (except, perhaps, as a source of excuses for a while... just kidding).

One of the points stressed during yesterday's doctor visit was the need to do regular exercise. So, about half an hour ago, despite having a ton of stuff to do (the strength analysis for tomorrow is due kind of early, so I really ought to get a fair chunk of it done - it's 1700 source words, after all - by the time I go to bed tonight), I got dressed and went outside.

And walked into a light, falling snow. And a brisk wind. Both of them on the cold side.

So I figure this is Providence telling me today is not a good day to start walking, and so I'm back at the keyboard. However, it strikes me that I haven't really eaten lunch yet, so I may just take an hour off and do that. Or take a nap.

Oops, I forgot to post...

So here I am, back in the saddle, nourished and refreshed.

Cheers...

Well, I didn't get everything done that I had planned, but nothing's perfect, eh?

I did finish the strength analysis and will leave two pending questions for tomorrow. Then I well and truly will have to "turn to" on filing the store's unemployment insurance payment for Q1.

I've spent enough time here today. I think I will go upstairs and listen to some downloaded French podcasts. I think it's important to drive up my comprehension of spoken French, and I have about two months in which to do it.

The Zire 71 suffered another catastrophic battery drain overnight. I had the unit under my pillow (I was too lazy to put it on the table next to the bed, where there is no room for it anyway), and the battery drained to the point where all data was lost. This is annoying and the second time it's happened, which ought to drop a hint in my direction regarding the need to synchronize a little more often. As it is, the part that hurts most is the loss of the BP data that I forgot to take to the doctor yesterday.

In other news, the client I got through the ProZ site paid the invoice, which officially justifies my four years of otherwise unremarkable paid membership at the site. What's funny here is that the job came looking for me (as opposed to a perfect 0% score on the dozen-some-odd jobs I've responded to in the past, even though a couple-three of those responses are still recent enough to not be entirely counted out... though I am far from holding my breath about any of them).

Time to go upstairs. Big day tomorrow.

Cheers...

Shamelessly following in the footsteps of many others who have gone before, I do hereby solicit questions from the LJ-reading public. I'll answer the first 30 that pique my interest and reserve the right to not answer any question for any reason, [insert standard disclaimer here].

And just to keep things square, I'm screening comments on this one.

Cheers...
