One down, and two to go, though whether I do them tonight or tomorrow won't make much of a difference.

Between finishing and checking the adoption translation and meeting with various real estate personalities (mortgage company, broker, other broker), I managed to send off the work due today with literally about 4 minutes to spare. However, I didn't take into account the construction that's going on near Durango, so I arrived at the doctor's office about 20 minutes late (though I did call ahead). As it turned out - or perhaps the technician was humoring me - my lateness came at an opportune moment, as she says she had been running behind. No matter. Eyeballing the screen during the procedure didn't tell me much, but enough so that I'm pretty sure I'm not doing too badly.

I got a call from my Kazakhstan client and got the scoop on the dates of the next launch campaign. Originally, I'd heard dates that - suspiciously - had allowed me to spend the Fourth of July with my family. Based on today's phone call, apparently, that's not going to happen. I made a hard charge to get permission to leave one day earlier than what is planned (because starting in Durango and ending up in Moscow in one swell foop of connections - how's that for a collective noun? - is time-consuming and stressful, and we all remember the fun we had last time we tried this), but there's time yet to finagle flights.

With all of the excitement, I was coming home from Durango when I realized that, with the exception of a morning cup of coffee, I hadn't had anything to eat all day, so I decided to refrain from eating and make today a water-from-now-on day and give my stomach a rest.

I have mentally committed to getting the current paper chase finished by the 10th of June, which is when I'll be taking off for a gig in Houston. It'll make possible the deal that Galina's working on right now, and will put my mind to rest on the subject, at least for a while. Right now, however, I think I'll go write another invoice.

Cheers...
