Altitude, weight, and BP...
Jun. 17th, 2005 05:35 amOne bad aspect to turning my schedule upside down to work nights has been a seeming inability to keep up with my BP meds (part of this is related to not having a set sleep time, as I generally link taking my meds to getting up in the morning). As it turns out, however, between coming down to sea level (from 7700 feet) and my recent weight loss, my BP has been looking pretty good, even after 24 hours.
While there's not much I can do directly about moving out of Pagosa - primo, it's not something I want to do, and segundo it's not something that could be done expeditiously even if I wanted to leave - I have high hopes for continued weight loss. The only minor fly in the ointment right now in that regard is finding a reliable scale, as the scale in the hotel's exercise room sits on a carpet with a lot of springiness to it, so that the scale's reading changes dramatically for relatively small variations in weight distribution on it, for example, as I crane my head forward to look down at the scale.
I don't know whether fatigue has dulled my anticipation, but thinking about movies about now fails to excite me. The final Star Wars flick is, of course, a must-see no matter how good or bad it might be. (And frankly, I am curious as to what cock-and-bull solution Lucas came up with for his improbable saga.) I am mildly intrigued by the trailers (and buzz) for Mr. & Mrs. Smith, although in the end I might be better off with my imaginings as company, as films of this genre tend to be more loud than anything else.
Natalie sounds pretty up about the new Batman movie, whereas I am completely neutral about it. Batman never really interested me as a comic, never interested me when Adam West was playing the role in the campy TV series, and frankly depressed me in its several recent big-screen incarnations. I'm sure I'll end up watching this flick one way or another; who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised?
I've finished my review of the BTJ, and now I just need to get to a place where I can access my e-mail, which will happen after I leave the MCC.
Cheers...
