Not as bad as I thought...
Jun. 30th, 2005 07:25 pmI dreaded the task of unloading the truck today, but when it came down to it, I was able to handle the job myself with relatively little trouble. I'm thinking that my apprehension was based on the unpleasant time spent loading the contents of the first storage unit and the fact that we had to return to the storage place to finish loading items from the other two units.
Filing expenses had to wait on the unloading operation, which in turn was interrupted by having to fulfill the documentation requirement for the closing tomorrow, which I then find out is not tomorrow but next month, owing to the fact that I only "got around to" fulfilling the documentation requirement today. (Is that clear? This will appear on the blue-book exam, so pay attention!)
In other news, I finally received a response from the agency for whom I did that rush job on Father's Day, which involves filling out a data form (done), sending along a CV (done), filling out a W-9 (to be done, and a no-brainer), and filling in a form so that money can be paid to my account via wire transfer (still a to-do, and fine with me as long as I don't end up paying for the transfers). There's so much paperwork, I should probably feel as if I'm filing my tax return, except that these people also have some kind of online work management system that I'm going to have to learn to deal with, which would appear to make the procedure more complex than filing taxes. (The description of how the online system works sounds complicated, with several hoops to jump through for any given job. I'm sure I'll muddle through, however).
My appointment at the fitness center went well. I was going to combine that visit with a visit to the bank to make sure I had all the wire transfer information nailed (even though I think I have that info...) but I got an early call to come in to the store and help process packages. No matter. I'll confirm the info tomorrow, keeping in mind that any time is a good time to visit with one's banker and chat. Between everything else, I have to return the truck tomorrow and go in for the second phase of my one-on-one session (we only worked the lower body today... I can only imagine the thrills of working the upper body tomorrow).
I probably overdid dinner, but after a day in which I unloaded about 12 feet of a 16-foot truck and then did a lower-body workout (my legs feel like jelly), I'm pretty sure it won't be reflected on the scales tomorrow morning. Heck, I may just go for a walk before going to sleep. I'm sure that will help assure a sound night's sleep!
Cheers...
