Another day...
Sep. 28th, 2005 07:35 pmDespite the fact that a feeding tube has been inserted into my mother's stomach early yesterday, she had not been given anything to eat as of 10 am this morning, and looked it when we went to visit her.
About the only good (?) thing about visiting my mom these past couple of weeks has been that there is no telling, from day to day, just what condition she will be in when we arrive. And yet, despite the, um, variety of conditions, the possible range of end results continues to shrink.
Today, as I leaned against the sill of the window in her room, I caught myself engaging in a monologue with my concept of God, making various silly offers intended to somehow empower me to ameliorate my mother's condition. It's all nonsense, of course, but I found it curious that I would fall into auch a pattern.
A hint today of a possible third assignment in Kazakhstan this year. More details as they become clear.
Cheers...
