Uncomfortable and achy...
Jun. 6th, 2006 08:52 pmI did a passable job of finishing one French job this morning, and the month is now officially off to a good start. I also managed to get about halfway through a set of JPGs that made me cross-eyed before having to give it up and go to the store at 2 pm.
It turns out I really wasn't required at the store, as it had been a slow day, and I managed to head out around 4:15, biking for home. A brisk wind was blowing smack in my direction, a sort of gust front for some really crummy weather moving in.
About a third of the way down Meadows, I acquired a traveling companion, a young husky-malamute mix with wild, light-blue eyes, who at times followed and at times led me all the way home. I called the veterinarian number imprinted on the rabies tag and eventually got in touch with the owner, who came to retrieve the animal.
Some wrong move with dental floss made me think the top of my head was about to come off, so just as soon as I clear the plate of current work, I am going to a dentist. My head still hurts, which combined with the heat inside the house has me feeling positively miserable. (I've since decided I'd rather be cooler and have to deal with flies than hotter and relatively fly-free, though the coolness from the rain shower that caught me on the last leg of the way home earlier seems to have dissipated.)
Galina says she'll leave the house to the mercies of a guy we know down in Houston, who does a lot of our fix-it work, and come back up to Colorado this weekend. In the meantime, my idea of going down to Houston for an extended period isn't going to fly unless we can come up with some (at least part-time) help for Drew at the store. My head hurts just thinking about the combinations and permutations.
Is it really almost 9 pm? I guess it is. It's too hot to try to go to sleep... maybe a shower?
Cheers...
