I spent most of the day at the полтинник, mostly translating the now-steady stream of certificates and reports coming in as a result of having the rocket at the pad. Most of the folks I work for here took off around 3 pm and Olga, who was working the afternoon, and I were dismissed at around 4 pm, whereupon we agreed to meet at the Kometa for some table tennis.

My game is so rusty, all it takes is a break for water for me to lose my edge, but I did manage to win one game out of five.

I haven't spent much time at the Kometa, but it turns out the rooms are actually mini-suites, with the bed and TV in one room, and the A/C and some easy chairs in another. The bathroom is equipped with an honest-to-goodness shower instead of the converted pygmy phone booth that's been waterproofed and equipped with the requisite plumbing in the Fili rooms.

Tomorrow, I've got the afternoon shift, and on Friday, I'm free until the State Commission meeting for launch vehicle propellant load go/no-go, which occurs about 8 hours prior to launch, after which I might have a couple of free hours before reporting to the 4th floor of the Polyot to do the launch narration at around three-forty-something on Saturday morning.

That puts us at fifty-something hours prior to launch. Once the rocket launches, the plan is to expeditiously get our stuff together and beat it out of Dodge about 60 hours later. After a couple of days in Moscow to visit the in-laws and meet some potential clients (and try to get my wallet back), I fly back to the States on the 10th.

Tomorrow morning will realistically be my last chance to take care of personal issues. I should make sure I get some quality rack time.

Cheers...
