All things considered...
Sep. 16th, 2006 10:11 pm...a pretty nice Saturday.
I managed to translate about 2500 words before Galina and went over to visit Natalie around noon. Once there, our first task was to eat lunch, which we did at a Turkish place near Rice Plaza. While the house tube displayed a Turkish telecast, we ate lamb chops over rice and enjoyed ethnic appetizers.
Afterward, we toyed with the idea of visiting a museum, but today's offer of free admission apparently appealed to a lot of people, and it was a bear trying to find parking. Eventually, we went to the Central Market for some groceries, and stopped by the tapioca teahouse for refreshment.
Right now, Galina is watching the second DVD of the Firefly set I borrowed from Natalie. Our decrepit DVD player unfortunately is incapable of doing much without its remote control, and it's gone missing in the interim since arriving here. I'm sure it's around here, someplace, because I packed all of the relevant TV/DVD items in one place, and cannot imagine not having packed the remote (I know how necessary it is).
I think I'm going to go off and rub some feet.
Cheers...
