Working at Starbucks...
Nov. 20th, 2006 12:30 pmNot as an employee, but at one of the tables, with the laptop plugged into the wall and my cell phone providing broadband service, as my best client called a little over 90 minutes ago with a rush job, for which I had Galina drop me off at the Starbucks that's not too far from the house (about 15 minutes walking). The job is done and sent back.
Earlier, I had gone for a bike ride that lasted almost an hour, mostly because I got lost inside of the residential maze between Blackhawk and West Bay Area. I'm not at all sure I can retrace my path, though perhaps I'll try later with Google Earth.
Most important, I called FirstChoice before coming to the Starbucks to make sure that our house was on the schedule to have power turned back on. It is, but aside from being able to find out that said blessed event will occur today, I could not get any finer resolution, i.e., what time it would occur.
Galina is going nuts looking for her passport, as the cruise she booked for the two of us (and billed as my "birthday present," as opposed to our "anniversary present") is now less than two weeks away. She is virtually certain she had it with her in Pagosa, so it is only an issue of looking through all of the stuff (mostly paper to be chased) she brought with her. In theory.
Anyway, I suppose it's time for me to wrap things up, pack up the computer, and mozey on home.
Cheers...
