That miserable "disk full" message showed up again a few seconds ago, but this time, I had the presence of mind to try something before resigning myself to losing yet another couple of hours of work. (It is interesting to note that if I saved at intervals of about 5-10 minutes, nothing unusual would go on... it was only after I got into "the zone" and tapped away for nearly two hours that Word decided to throw an error and keep me from saving my work, but I digress...)

Step 1: Do a select-all and copy the text.
Step 2: Create a blank document and paste text copied from step 1.
Step 3: Save the document created in step 2.

Hopefully, there are no hidden "gotchas" associated with this, um, workaround.

We now return you to your normally scheduled Sunday.

Cheers...

I can hear the muffled sound of applause a couple of rooms over as Galina watches the Grammy Awards show. Moi, I overdosed on coverage of Anna Nicole Smith sometime yesterday, as folks outside of the broadcast tabloid segment joined in the fray. Even today's Sunday Morning program got into the act, although there was an interesting counterpoint in an opinion piece broadcast during the show, the conclusion of which was: If a culture can be judged by its celebrities, we're in trouble.

On that note, unless something completely, mind-numbingly newsworthy comes out of the tragedy, I'll simply mumble a quiet requiescat in pace and say no more on the subject.

I finished the last 2000 words or so of the Big Job due tomorrow. They took longer than I expected, but they're done. I promised the job for Monday, Moscow time, which means I have about another 5 hours before folks start showing up at work there. Bump this puppy up in my list of immediate to-dos.

I also finished the first draft of the two items due tomorrow at... 10 am, according to the work order, so I'll move those items down in my list, but not too far. If I get up at 8 am, I should have plenty of time to make sure all is both hunky and dory with these documents before I send them off.

There is also an item due on Tuesday, no time specified (though I probably shouldn't allow suspense to build too much as this is a new client). It's looking to be a bigger job than I first anticipated, but I've translated just over 2000 target words as of a few minutes ago. There are between 2200 and 3000 source words left in the job, which I will - must - take care of tomorrow.

And that's the "state of the plate," at it were. I better get back to work.

Cheers...
