The subject line may or may not be true in the Couéian sense, I suppose, but it is certainly the case as far as interpretation assignments are concerned, though my cup has a way to go before it overflows. A week ago, after sharpening my pencil, it turned out that my monthly "nut" was pretty much a cinch. It's still a cinch, but the surplus I had visions of didn't materialize this past week.
After getting up at 7:00 am with Shiloh, to let her out, feed her, and then walk for nearly 30 minutes, I went back to sleep. At times like this morning, I wish I could see a session in which a dog expert has to deal with a puppy like Shiloh, who at times barely acknowledges her name with eye movement, much less the mobilization of major muscle groups. There are times when all I can say, or repeat, is "No!" to the extent that it might almost sound as if I'm cheering the animal on. At the same time, there often doesn't seem to be anything I can do to physically keep the dog from pursuing its current course, lest I give the animal the impression that I want to play.
Five o'clock came and went, and I began to mentally prepare myself for a weekend with no translation to do, when my best client called with 50 pages of work (most of them already translated previously) due on Tuesday, for which I am thankful.
In between, I threw out stuff (two loads of shredded documents), did some filing, and realized that TiddlyWiki, which is a complete wiki housed in an html file (containing the text of the wiki articles and all the technical pieces - the JavaScript, CSS, and html - required to display, edit, search, etc.) was likely the ideal vehicle for my professional web presence.
So, for the past couple of hours, I've done a little wordsmithing and have hammered a basic TiddlyWiki for my translation company. I'll probably field it tomorrow, after letting today's edits sit overnight.
