A slow motion kind of day...
Jul. 26th, 2007 09:51 pmThe telecon this morning was its usual quick self, and I didn't mind getting up early to do it, really, but the question of why just a telecon did cross my mind, as I was dropping off something at an old acquaintance's desk.
The rest of the day sort of passed in a haze. I felt tired when I got back home, and it was one of those I-didn't-get-enough-sleep feelings, despite the fact that I got pretty much 7 hours, with the usual interruptions, so I hit the hay again for a couple of hours, almost missing a 1200-target word assignment that came in over the transom for fast turnaround. Another job, which sounded like a sure thing a couple of nights ago, dissipated like fog before the morning sun.
The weather today included a lot of (surprise!) rain, and it's getting so wet out there that I'm afraid Shiloh is developing a complex, or something. She knocked over one of my tomato plants and then romped in the resulting mud pile, which made for a very messy re-entry into the house. Once clean - go figure - the dog wanted to go outside again.
Tomorrow is another day, and I hope to get a phone call with news of some substantial assignments. In the meantime, I shall go back and join Galina in watching one of Natalie's DVD sets about a pair of brothers that spend time hunting down Supernatural Things™ (sort of a cross between The Night Stalker and The X Files).
Cheers...
