A weekend-like Friday...
Aug. 3rd, 2007 04:28 pmNatalie and her friend apparently stopped last night rather than force the issue of driving all the way from Pagosa to Houston in one fell swoop, with one person driving. This showed good judgment; better, in fact, than my own on occasion. The kids showed up around 1 pm, and we spent about an hour catching up. I then left with Shiloh for the vet's office.
While at the vet, in addition having the doctor do the usual boring stuff (shots, pokes, prods), I had a microchip implanted in Shiloh, and also asked the doc to show me how to handle the dog when clipping its nails, because Shiloh has made it perfectly clear that her precious nails want nothing to do with me or my clippers. Interestingly enough, the dog sat quietly while the vet went snip, snip, snip. Go figure.
With any luck, Natalie will be back soon from wherever she went, so we can all share dinner and I can hit the sack for a few hours before the start of my support shift tonight at 11 pm. As of the current moment, the translation plate is fairly light, and it would be nice to have a few thousand words in the hopper.
The key, however, to equilibrium is to go with the flow, so I'm going to stay cool, calm, and collected... at least for the moment.
Cheers...
