Moving along smoothly...
Nov. 6th, 2007 05:10 pmI guess I had subconsciously settled the issue when I mentioned it yesterday, because indeed, I left the translation until today. This was probably a Bad Move™, since my impression of how much I had progressed before being diverted to another job was wildly optimistic. Still, as I write these words, I have fewer than 2500 words left to go, the assignment is due tomorrow at noon, and I probably have another hour to work on it before Galina and I must leave to meet Natalie and her boyfriend for dinner.
I was grateful for the servile attentiveness of the employees at the Wells Fargo Bank today, which aided in vectoring some vital estate paperwork back to the lawyers in jig time. Unfortunately, FedEx's catalog of dropbox locations is in need of updating, as I lost some time looking for a box that wasn't there. On the plus side, the concentration of such boxes around here is high enough to allow you to get to the next closest one pretty quickly, as long as you're decisive about recalibrating your goals.
Natalie did come by last night and it was good to see her. For dinner, we all had some rotisserie chicken (store bought) and some risotto (home made, but out of a box), along with a nice chianti and conversation.
Words aren't morphing on their own; I must turn to.
Cheers...
UPDATE: An hour later, I'm down to about 1500 words. I'll probably get to the rest tomorrow morning.
