Of course, you could say that about nearly any day.

I awoke around 5:30 am to tackle a document I didn't much look forward to, a jpg of a map that - as it turns out - is not very legible. There have been times when I have looked upon such documents as something of a challenge (indeed, I've become pretty good at identifying words on the basis of context and the top row or two of pixels, where the rest of the word has been cut off, but I digress...).

The map went amazingly quickly, though, except for some names.

Then I went back to put some polish on my translation of a rather curious insider's view of certain events (sorry to sound so cryptic), and was gratified to see that many of the decisions I made in rendering a rather conversational style still held after having "slept on it."

As noon approached, I was informed we were expected at Huntür's school, to attend a special holiday event, where the kids got up in front of the class and recited a poem that they had memorized. The kids acquitted themselves well, despite the kinds of interruptions and distractions provided by brother Mathew, who was there doubtless to lend moral support.

Huntür, Mathew, and their cousin Hailey will be visiting tomorrow, and I've decided it might not be a bad idea for our gang to make oatmeal cookies from scratch (although there is a package of "semi-automatic" cookies in the fridge as well, just in case). It'll be a new experience for me, too.

I continue to explore my new Blackberry, making notes for a possible review in the near future.

Despite the early hour, I am tired. I think I'll try for a full night's sleep, since my next assignment isn't due until Monday morning.

Cheers...
