Office tube...
Mar. 24th, 2009 11:21 pmHaving a television in my office is something new (the result of wanting to save a few bucks and make the house more appealing if we ever want to rent it and go travel), and last night I fell into the trap of thinking I could work and watch The Mentalist at the same time.
Hah!
Once I was able to focus on work again, some program on my system - firewall or antivirus - went and decided I could not be doing anything more important than await the appearance of its I-installed-an-update-so-you-need-to-reboot dialog box that grabbed system focus, completely oblivious to the fact that I often work for entire tens of seconds without looking at the screen.
Somewhere in those seconds, I must have typed a 'y' before I typed an 'n'.
Grrr. When next I looked at the screen, applications were closing all over the place.
I took that as a hint to wind things up for the night.
