Is it really Monday?
Mar. 23rd, 2009 08:40 amThe 3,000-word item (expanded to 3,600 target words) has gone out through the wireless connection. I wish all my work was that straightforward.
The 20,000-word item is edited, and now, I'm fixing stuff the translator either wasn't aware of or didn't care about to begin with (paragraph numbering, changes in figures, three missing pages).
Then I can sit down and see about wiping my name from the LJ Idol "List of Shame," which had to cede precedence over paying bills next month.
The wind blew and howled yesterday, for all it was worth, and from our vantage point, we could see huge dust clouds being raised, until soon, the mountains were obscured. The kids came over and we shared a dinner of borshch, rack of lamb, potatoes, salad, and other assorted goodies, topped off with a dessert of ice cream and strawberries.
As if in frustration, the wind actually kicked it up a few notches after the kids went home, and just screamed as it came hurtling past the house. Even Shiloh noticed.
Overnight, Wolf Creek got 12 inches of snow. We here in the "lowlands" got away with a light sprinkling. I don't know if that's the extent of the snowstorm that had been the subject of weather news the past few days, I've been too busy editing.
So right now, I need to finish the editing job and get it out the door, then sit down and cobble something together for LJ Idol.
Cheers...
