The folks I'm working with made a hard charge to finish their business yesterday, successfully, so after all was said and done, and the last toast raised, we got home at nearly 10:30 pm. It didn't feel that late, because it was still light out, sort of being in the middle of twilight.

It was weird for it to be so light out, but then again Moscow is situated at about the same latitude as Juneau, Alaska, so it stays pretty bright pretty late around these parts in the summer. (The effect is amplified even more in Petersburg, which is even further north, where the time around the summer solstice is known as "the white nights," because night never quite falls owing to the sun not dipping very far below the horizon as it moves through the sky.)

Apropos of which, today's daylight - abundant though it might be - is burning. More later, maybe.

Cheers...
